Events. Walks and Talks

Valley of Visions Landscape Partnership Scheme is running a host of fantastic

free wildlife and heritage discovery events, walks and talks this summer

throughout the Medway Gap. Examples include water vole discovery days,

monitoring dormouse boxes, heritage walks around Snodland and Cuxton and

interactive talks on Palaeolithic and Neolithic heritage. Pick up or download our

Photography Competition

Your River offers a fantastic opportunity for people to explore and capture the

beauty and distinctive landscapes of the Medway Valley through photographs.

The competition will run until the end of September with fantastic prizes offered

for winning entries including a photo shoot with a professional photographer.

Medway Memories

Medway Memories is an exciting oral history project looking to collate people's

memories of the Medway Gap with an emphasis on industrial heritage. If you or

anyone you know would like to share their memories, stories or photographs

with us or help collect and record memories then we would like to hear from

them.

Free training

To help conserve and maintain the heritage, landscapes and wildlife of the

Medway Gap in the long term, Valley of Visions is offering free training to local

people on subjects ranging from reed bed management and practical hand tool

use to local geology and woodland archaeology. Please contact us to find out

more about training events that we are running.

Volunteering opportunities

Valley of Visions has a range of volunteering opportunities that local people can

get involved in over the next three years, including practical conservation with

local organisations, community archaeology, wildlife monitoring and many

others.
